It wouldn’t be Cinco de Mayo weekend without a major title bout event. Japanese boxing icon Naoya “The Monster” Inoue (29-0, 26 KOs) returns to America to defend his undisputed junior featherweight world title against San Antonio native Ramon Cardenas on Sunday, May 4, at T-Mobile Arena. Cardenas (26-1, 14 KOs) enters his first world title assignment on a 14-fight winning streak. He now gets a monster opportunity to author a Las Vegas upset for the ages. In the co-feature, Mexican star Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza will defend his WBO featherweight world title against Edward Vazquez. Also on the card, Dominican contender Rohan Polanco will face Argentinian Fabian Maidana in a 10-round welterweight contest. axs.com
