Behind Bars

By Published: November 5, 2023Attractions

You don’t have to be a gangster, a goodfella, or a made man to visit The Mob Museum’s inspired speakeasy, but this password protected Prohibition-era lounge, situated in the building’s basement, boasts offers you can’t refuse. Aptly named, The Underground, features an onsite distillery, live music, roaring twenties regalia, and vintage cocktails served up amongst ambiance. Your participation pays homage to the grit and glamor of a time when fringe was in and laws were faux paus, and because good things come in threes we recommend the cannoli trio, the moonshine tasting flight, and enjoying jazzy tunes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Come for the history of distilleries, stay for the education presented by the living exhibition, and leave with this covert cocktail bar’s catchphrase in mind: “Raise a glass to the past, drink what they drank and remember – you were never here.” themobmuseum.org
